Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Diana dropped out of school at 17. By the age of 19, with no formal training, she launched a career as a hair and makeup artist in Beverly Hills.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=About Diana Alouise )〕 A co-owner of the Bumble and Bumble salon offered her an apprenticeship that involved on-the-job training, and an eventual cosmetology license in the State of California. As she recalls, ''They (Bumble and Bumble co-owners ) had me sign an affidavit proclaiming I was a South African resident who went to the Waverly Girls High School in Johannesburg, completed my cosmetology license there, and worked as a full-time hairdreser at Bumble and Bumble. In 1984 she moved to Umberto, the spacious salon opened by Umberto Savone on Cañon Drive in Beverly Hills. She currently owns (Shampoo ), a salon in Truckee, California, and continues to style celebrity clients in the Los Angeles area.
